Long Beach Comic Con is happening this weekend! Tickets are still on sale. Individual days are $25, and the 2 day weekend pass is $45 (savings of $5).

There will be a special Robot Chicken panel on Saturday at 3:00 pm. Co-creators/executive producers/directors/writers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, executive producer/head writer Tom Root, actor/writer Breckin Meyer and writers Erik Weiner and Matt Beans are scheduled to be present in the panel. A Q&A, clips from upcoming episodes of season 5 (DVD on sale 10/25, a sneak preview of the exciting next steps for the hit series are some things you should expect to see.

For all you Simpsons fan, there’s going to be a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror panel. Jane Wiedlin (The Go-Gos), Tom Hodges (Clone Wars) and Bill Morrison (The Simpsons) will talk about Jane and Tom’s Treehouse of Horror story. The panel will be on Saturday in Room 103A at 11:00 AM, followed by a signing at the Golden Apple booth.
Other guests include Iron Man 3 director Shane Black, legendary filmmaker John Carpenter, and the entire cast of The Guild.

Redbox Raising Rental Fee $.20 For DVD’s On Halloween, Treat Not Included

Do you guys remember when we used to get a 20 ounce soda for a buck? Life was easy. A single dollar bill was all we needed. Then inflation kicked in and we started having to ask our friends or kind strangers for change because that dollar bill was no longer enough.

Prices bumps are never good news but they are often a necessary evil for businesses to remain profitable. Today Redbox announced it too will become that vending machine by bumping it’s rate.  The good news is that the price hike only affects DVDs. While we’re probably years away from DVDs being the new laserdisc, the narrowing price gap between DVD and Blu-ray rentals may help adoption rate for the latter. For 30 cents more, why not watch movies in glorious high definition? Perhaps we’ll also see a shift in inventory for available titles on Blu-ray. One can only hope.

Dragon Age: Redemption Episode 3 (Josemael) Just Released

Dragon Age: Redemption Episode 3 is out starring Felicia Day.  Their little adventure begins as a tentative truce unites Tallis and Cairn, a young Dalish Mage, Josmael, insists on accompanying them to save his beloved.  Find out what happens below.  First episode and second episode are also available, for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Dragon Age: Redemption is a six-part webseries based on the BioWare series of the same name. It is created by and stars Felicia Day, creator and star of the webseries The Guild.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, No More! Comikaze Expo is Her Final Convention Appearance

That’s right, after November 6th, Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark, will no longer be making convention appearances. Comikaze Expo, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, will mark the last convention appearance of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. As the official “spooksperson” of Comikaze Expo, Elvira (aka Cassandra Peterson) will sign autographs, pose for photos with fans and take part in various events throughout the Expo.

Elvira became a household name as the host of Elvira’s Movie Macabre, the first nationally syndicated horror movie show. The weekly series featured the sexy, outrageous movie hostess’ sharp wit and clever banter throughout her tongue-in-cheek commentary of B-movie classics. Her reign as ‘Queen of Halloween’ spans three decades and includes two feature films, her long-running series and two motion control rides. Her appearance at Comikaze Expo solidifies the event’s commitment to horror fans and promises to be a memorable experience for all.

Comikaze Expo is the largest multimedia pop culture convention in Los Angeles. This unique event brings together the best in comics, gaming, horror, sci-fi, fantasy, anime and all other cult programming. Comikaze takes place November 5-6 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and offers a slate of innovative programming, panels, contests and other activities that provide fans access to their favorite artists and creators in this adventure-packed weekend. Twelve bucks for a convention ticket isn’t gonna break the bank. Heck, parking usually costs that much. I’m quite excited to see what this convention will offer and how fun it will be. Come back for more information as the con draws near.

BlizzCon started today and already it’s off to a hot start!  Diablo 3 has been “coming soon,” for what feels like ages and seems Blizzard is aware of this.  So what do to help increase your bread and butter and for those waiting for Diablo?  Blizzard announced today that their World of Warcraft (WoW) fans will be given digital version for free!  It will be available to people who subscribe to World of Warcraft for 12 months.

Lately, subscription for WoW been suffering from a decrease due to various factors (went through all the content already, too hard or too easy and so on).  However this may be a nice boost to their franchises, especially if you’re already paying for a subscription to WoW.

Diablo III is an upcoming dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game in development by Blizzard, making it the third installment in the Diablo franchise. The game, which features elements of the hack and slash and dungeon crawl genres, was first announced on June 28, 2008, at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France.

UPDATE: Seems if you sign up, you also gain access to Tyrael’s Charger and beta access to the recently announced World of Warcraft’s expansion, Mists of Pandaria.

Dragon Age: Redemption Episode 2 is out starring Felicia Day.  Still not quite sure what to make of the series, but its interesting to watch and it’s got elf ears.    Can’t go wrong with elf ears!  Of course, it reminds me of the elf ears they were selling at BlizzCon couple years ago.

Comikaze Expo is Coming to Los Angeles on November 5 and 6.

Comikaze Expo is Los Angeles’ first and only large-scale, multi-media pop culture convention. Guests of honor include legendary comic book created Stan Lee, and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. Additionally, there will be star-studded panels with artists, writers and creators and cast reunions from Nickelodeon’s All That and the Police Academy movies.

Comikaze also boasts independent film screenings, live shows, celebrity appearances, fan contests, games, portfolio reviews and even a masquerade ball. Expect this expo to be a bit different than your regular comic convention, as Comikaze seems to focus more on the community and culture.

Toys R Us buy two get one free is upon us and my wallet can’t help but shudder a bit.  This also includes games that will be released this week such as Batman: Arkham City or past games such as Gears of War 3.  The sale also includes accessories (like Xbox Live points or Gold), guides and apparel.

Kobe will be closer to Italian exotic cars makers like Maserati, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. It is already known that Kobe enjoys sports cars. He owns a Ferrari F430 and a 360 Modena. Being close to the automobile makers is like living near your favorite restaurant if you are a foodie.

A new motto

After making a flashy slam dunk, he can go “That’s one spicy meatball!”. Right now, he’s got too much American in him. Even though he was raised in Italy, his heart is with the Lakers. Once he’s re-immersed into the Italian culture, that thick Italian accent and the hand gestures will surely resurface. Speaking of food, haven’t we already imagined him spinning pizza dough like he would a basketball on his fingertips?

A new look

We’re all dreaming Kobe will grow a mustache and wear a plumbers suit to become a Mario brother. Being in Italy will legitimize that vision. After all, he already possesses the jumping ability.

The prodigal son factor

Everyone loves a prodigal son. If Kobe disappears, fans will either forget or fiendishly follow him. When he comes back, he’ll probably have gained new skills from a foreign culture and effectively become a more well rounded player.

An opportunity of playing soccer

Compared to the rest of the world, the United States isn’t exactly known for it’s soccer. Kobe stated that if he had stayed in Italy, he might have become a soccer player. Imagine if he were to live that dream. The world might have a new Bo Jackson.

Rekindle his marriage

Marriage takes a lot of work. Kobe Bryant’s had a rough start to his marriage because of sexual assault allegations. We all know Italy is one of the most romantic places on earth and being in Italy would definitely fan the flames of his love life with his beautiful wife, Vanessa.
