TV show – Tron: Uprising – the best show no one’s watching

Have you seen Tron: Uprising?  Probably not, it really is the best show that no one is watching.  The series follows Beck, voiced by Elijah Wood, a program who lives on the grid and joins the fight against Clu‘s occupation.  This series takes place inbetween the first movie Tron and the sequel Tron: Legacy.

There’s a lot of character development going on here, we even get the respective actors reprising their roles, Olivia Wilde and Bruce Boxleitner.  Spoiler… they’re from other versions of Tron, haahha.

Other than the compelling stories, I love the soundtrack, they really emulate the Daft Punk soundtrack from the Legacy movie, and the action is pretty top notch.

But apparently this series is getting some acclaim and not just from me, hopefully this will give us a second season.

The entire season is also on Netflix.

Here’s the webseries strung together as the first episode of the series;

Who would want to watch this?  I’m sure Elijah… would…

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Includes Legendary Video Game Bad Guys

Video game movies are a sore subject. When’s the last time you loved an adaptation of a video game? A few searches in IMDb might even help you to discover Street Fighter movies you wish you had forgotten. These are movies that look so awful in trailers you refuse to invest a fraction of what you paid for the actual game just to rent it. Let’s face it, the imaginative fantasies captured in video games weren’t mean for live action.

Disney decided to skirt around the genre by creating an original character that interacts with real video game villains in its new CG animation movie, Wreck-It Ralph. It will be produced by Disney’s own animation studio (i.e. Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt).

Take a look at at the trailer below:

Cameos include:

  • M. Bison / Zangief (Street Fighter)
  • Clyde (Pac-Man)
  • Bowser (Super Mario Brothers)
  • Doctor Ivo Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog)
  • Kano (Mortal Kombat)
Gamers should love the 8-bit style of the Wreck-It Ralph and the movie looks like it falls under the things-that-happen-behind-closed-doors formula (think Toy Story).
Mark your calendar. Wreck-It Ralph comes out November 2, 2012

Let’s Sing Is Like Draw Something, Except for Singers

The mobile gaming market continues to grow with a new game that caters to fans of the highly successful Draw Something.

Let’s Sing follows the same collaborative spirit of Draw Something by challenging friends to guess what song the other is singing. It is currently only available for iOS, but we’d expect makers Lex Friedman and Marco Tabini to come out with a port for Android if they truly want to reach critical mass.

It will be interesting to see how folks record themselves singing in public.

Humble Bundle for Android

Pay what you want and help charity.  That’s the name of the game for the latest Humble Bundle that just released.  What’s new this time is that instead of only PC/Mac/Linux related games, this time it is for the Android and PC/Mac/Linux.  You choose how much you want to pay and how much you want to allocate between developer, charity and the organizers.  If you beat the average, you also receive a bonus game (or more) all DRM free.  As a note, previous Humble Bundles in the past have added bonus games after the fact, and for those who previously beat the average will also receive the bonus games retroactively.

The following games are being offered right now: Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Osmos, and EDGE. If you pay more than the average price, you also get the indie classic World of Goo!

This is for a limited amount of time and once again this all goes to a good cause!

For more information visit Humblebundle.com

Update: Looks like Toki Tori has also been added, bonus game is still World of Goo

GameFly Now The Netflix of PC Games

No matter what service or product, there’s one word that’s synonymous with value: “unlimited”. We want unlimited text messages, data use, soda refills, sushi, and hours of streaming content on services such as Netflix.

GameFly recently introduced a public beta service that taps into the need for unlimited gaming, allowing users to download and play games not counting against current physical game rentals. Just like Netflix, subscribers only have access to select titles, which excludes many of the premier titles gamers everywhere are losing sleep over playing (Skyrim).

Games must be downloaded using GameFly’s own client.

Your move, Steam.
